The Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve or the Seafield Boys were the local Naval Territorials. The vast majority of these men became part of the Royal Naval Division, in particular the Anson Battalion and were present at the Siege of Antwerp in 1914, Gallipoli in 1915/16, Salonica 1916 and the Western Front for the remainder of the war. These men fought as land troops due to the lack of ships for these men.
