Lived with parents at 77 Belville Street, Greenock. Worked as a blacksmith at Scott's. Also worked at Greenock and Grangemouth dockyard. A John Berry is listed on the Roll of Honour in Mid Kirk but no note of death in SNWM or CWGC.

Wounded in right wrist. Was on the hospital ship Goorka then spent 95 days in the King George Hospital in Malta. Military service term to 26/03/16.
