Worked as a fitters helper at Scotts. 

Probably the son of Duncan and Maggie McGilvray, 26 Tobago Street, Greenock and brother of Mary, Charles, Zechariah (known as Dick), Malcolm, William, Agnes, John and Maggie. Charles, Dick , Malcolm, William and John also served. 

Admitted to hospital in April or May 1916.
