The present St.George’s North was formed by the union of St. George’s church and Martyr’s and North church in 1983. St.George’s was, prior to 1929, the Free Middle Church. This memorial is therefore the Free Middle’s WW1 memorial, to which has been added a WW2 inscription by the St. George’s congregation.
We have been unable to confirm the two Weirs identity, or the Howard Alexander. If anyone can help please get in touch.
