Son of William Arthur and Laure Lee Ker of 6 Belgrave Terrace, Glasgow
Laurance Arthur Ker was a chartered accountant who was born in Glasgow, he joined the Royal Scots Fusiliers and was based at the Fort Matilda Training Camp. He was billeted at Elmhurst 42 Newark St and on the morning of 4th April 1915 he was posted missing by his fellow officers, after a search his body was found at the bottom of stairs. It was thought that Lieutenant Ker had decided to leave his room during the night and in the dark had missed his footing and fallen down the stairs. Laurance died of a fractured skull. He was the only son of Mr & Mrs Ker of Glasgow.
