John McArthur (RSF)

Lived Kilmacolm. Son of Archibald McArthur, Woodend. 

Probably the brother of Duncan McArthur, listed on this site. 

Enlisted at Glasgow. Noted as 45821 in BIM.  Killed in Action.

Appeared in a newspaper: "Mrs Adam, Castle Street, Strathaven has now received word of the death in action of her brother Signaller John McArthur, Royal Scots Fusiliers previously reported missing on May 4th, 1916. He was killed by a shell on that date along with five of his comrades. Previous to his death Signaller McArthur had been eighteen months with the colours. He was 18 years of age and was the youngest son of Mr. A. McArthur, Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire."
