Capt Charles Mill Nicol, M.B., Ch.B., died of wounds, entered the R.A.M.C. in 1909. In 1913 he had promotion, and was gazetted to the Staff as Deputy-Assistant-Director of Medical Services. In Egypt when the war broke out, he was transferred to France, and was mentioned by Viscount French in despatches. His youngest brother, Lt. Alexander Nicol, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, was killed at Achi Baba. At the time of his death he was with the 27th Field Ambulance, 9th (Scottish) Division, fighting at Dervilles Wood
