Son of Mr & Mrs Thomas Marner, 34 Crawford Street, Greenock. Had been employed as an assistant cook on the Anchor Line Columbia.

Attested 17th November 1914. Deserted for 6 weeks in 1916(war service lost & gratuity not paid for this period) Died as a result of gunshot wound to neck
