Born May19th 1880 in Kilmacolm Son of Dugald and Ann Hair, 8 Carwood Street, Greenock. Worked as miner in Canada

Enlisted 4/10/1916. William arrived in England on 6th February 1917 and was sent to Hospital at Fort Matilda on the 16th. He was transferred first to Stobhill and then Ruchill Fever Hospital where he died of meningitis.
