Thomas is mention in the Glasgow Herald on 10th March 1915: "Mrs McCready, 11 Cathcart Street, Greenock, has been informed that her husband, Private C. McCready, of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, was killed at Armentieres on January 9. He was a reservist, and was called up at the outbreak of war. Before rejoining the Army he was employed with Messrs Barr and Son, coppersmiths, Greenock. His brother Thomas McCready, was killed on September 25."
