"Mrs Gosnell, 12 Nile Street, Greenock, has received intimation that her son, Private Thos. Hart Gosnell, 1st Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers, has been killed in action at the Dardanelles. Private Gosnell had been fully eight years in the Army, three being served in Egypt and five in India. He was one of the landing party at the Dardanelles."
