Robert McIntyre

Son of Hugh and Margaret McIntyre; husband of Barbara McIntyre, of 7, Cathcart Place, Edinburgh. Served in the Egyptian Campaign (1884-85). Born in Ross-shire. Died of pneumonia. He had come to work in Greenock as a postman and at the outbreak of war he offered his services to the local 5th Argylls. He was given charge of the training of recruits and accompanied them to Hawick. He took ill and subsequently died.
