Son of the late Rev and Mrs Robert Lyon, of North Church, Perth. Graduate of St Andrew's. Served in Matabeleland and South African Wars. His sister, Helen, married a Dr Thomas Philip in 1913 at St Johns in Greenock. His brother James Harper Lyon, Student in Arts, 1885-87. Captain in the Native Barotse Regiment. Born 1869. Died at Kasama, South Africa, 16th December 1916, of wounds received in German East Africa 16/12/16
