Remembering those who fought in the Great War.

Robert Boyd

18 year old Apprentice Plater with Russell & Co. Lived 7 Hope St., Greenock

Attested 6/5/14 Discharged 14/3/1919 gsw left leg

The service record also mentions him having been at hospital in January 1918 when he was granted 12 days leave to Greenock. He also appears to have been admitted to hospital again on 04 Aug 1918.

Not sure whether the hospitals are one and the same but they are recorded as the Special Military Surgical Hospital and as the Tooting Military Hospital at Church Lane.

Can't make out what is written but it appears to have been something to do with 'shell' and that he had 40% disability.
