Tailor to trade. Born 27/9/1879 in St Andrew's. He lost two brothers, George and Thomas in the War. His mother Mary lived at 85 Belville St and the family have a gravestone in Greenock Cemetery. Their names are in The Men of Greenock. Son of the late Matthew and Mary Peddie; husband of Harriet Clawson (formerly Peddie), of 710, Hamilton St., Vancouver. Emigrated to Canada in 1905. His body was not recovered until 1931 at which time his wedding ring was sent to his widow
