Was a 24 year old Labourer living at Rosemount, Barrs Brae, Port Glasgow. 

Attested 12th August 1914. With the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force from 31st January 1915 until 27th June 1916. Joined the British Expeditionary Force on the 28th June 1916 until the 2nd October 1917. Received a GSW on 11th December 1915 at Gallipoli and was then gassed. 

Was a time expired 5th Argyll and Sutherland Highlander.
