A member of numerous societies in Gourock - Golf Club, Tennis Club, Yacht Club. 

Address given as 'Moidort', Victoria Road, Gourock.

Member of Battalion prior to 1914, left, then came forward again in August 1914. His men waited three days to retrieve his body. He is buried near the trench line.
