Born Greenock. Enlisted Avoca, Victoria. Next of Kin father John Blain. Butcher to trade

Wounded at Lone Pine, Gallipoli. Bomb shell wound to his leg led to his discharge. Returned to Australia for domestic duties. He rejoined in 1917
