Was a 20 year old Labourer when he attested. 

Attested 11th June 1914. Was with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force from the 24th May 1915 until the 17th of October 1915. He was with the British Expeditionary Force from the 20th May 1916 until the 21st March 1918 when he was taken as a Prison of War until the 26th November 1918. Being taken as a POW lead to him becoming deaf.
