Article in Sunday Post 20 May 1917. He has secured a commission in the Royal Flying Corp. While comparatively young he joined the Territorialsin his native town as a bugler and at the age of 17 was included in a company shooting team. He then left this country and went to British Guiana where he was employed in the analytical branch of their sugar industry. On the outbreak of hostilities Mr Devlin was keen to join the colours and linked up with the Argylls, with whom he did valuable work as a gymnast instructor. The young lieutenant has some reputation as a tennis player and is not unfamiliar with boxing.
