Daniel David Dunlop Crawford

Son of Mrs Agnes Crawford, late of Rowallan, Kilmacolm. He served in the Glasgow University O.T.C., 1909-13. At the outbreak of the war he was working in East Africa as an Assistant Engineer for the Uganda Railway. Credited with service in the Nairobi Defence Force as Private 10076. In March 1916 he returned to England and was appointed a Private in the Cameron Highlanders in July 1916. He received a temporary commission in the Royal Engineers on 18 August 1916. Some time later he returned to East Africa and ‘died of wounds accidentally received’ on 10 December 1917.
