Cape Finisterre, built 1907 at Russel & Co., Port Glasgow had sailed from New York in convoy HN17 on 17 October 1917, but fell behind and was sent into Falmouth. The ship was sunk whilst in a coal convoy bound for Brest by UC17 with the loss of 35 lives
