Labourer born 6/2/1879. Wife Mary, 13 Mill Street. Served apprenticeship in Kingston Yard but was working in the Glebe Refinery

Enlisted 16/11/14. Joined A Coy Benbow Battalion A/205, 22/2/15. Transferred to Drake Battalion on 12/6/15 and was with them until his death on14/9/16 at the Dardanelles.

Drake Battalion War Diaries states 14/9/16; Sector somewhat heavily bombarded between 9.50 and 10.35pm by enemy with shrapnel and some HE. This no doubt was part of their retaliation in the raid on part of Vimy. We had 11 casualties."
