Attested 10th December 1915. Mobilised 29th April 1918.

Wounded at Loos by mustard gas shell 18th August 1918. Treated at Cammieres, Norfolk and Kings Lancashire hospitals. Spent 73 days in hospital in Blackpool.

Later with the 18 Scottish Rifles.
