Worked as a Driller. Lived 13 Argyle Street, Port Glasgow. Had Irish parents.

Attested 2nd February 1915. Noted in Aberdeen Journal of 19 September 1916 as wounded from Port Glasgow. GSW to forearm 17th August 1916. Served British Expeditionary Force and 24th January 1917 in Salonica. Demobilised 1919 then joined Clyde RGA.
