Lived 109 Finnart Street, Greenock. Only son of the late J Leitch Lyle and Mrs Lyle, Kilmorie, Greenock. Died at Hove in 1919 as result of illness contracted while on active service in France

Was injured at Gallipoli - shots to knee, leg and right lung. Admitted to 'Blue Sisters' at Malta. Honorary Lieutenant Alfred John Lyle is on the Honour Roll of Finnart St Paul's
